Meet our newest family member....

This is Petey, the newest member of Chez V. He's about seven weeks old. He was rescued from a trash can in Brussels by two kind souls who were not repelled by his crusted-shut eyes and the maggots swarming aroud him. He nearly died, but look at him now. With medical care and lots of TLC, he's sleek and sweet.  (Wish I could photoshop out the spooky x-ray eyes, but I'm a techno-tard.)

Amy,  our reigning feline queen, surveys her new subject. She is wary and less than impressed. For 13 years, she's ruled Chez V with a velvet paw.

Amy says that if Petey turns into a sofa-shredding, curtain-climbing, hairball-hurling troublemaker, we're changing his name to Nance.  (See her comment on the previous entry.)

Nance, doesn't he look sweet?  Shall we call him Santa Claws?

Miss M would be so envious! She wants an indoor cat in the worst way. Too bad she has such a mean Mom.

He's too cute! When I was living in Belgium, we adopted a stray cat who gave birth to two little black kittens in our apartment. The mother was hit by a car a couple weeks later, which pretty much traumatized me. Anyway, we ended up keeping the kittens, getting them EU passports, spending a huge amount of money and moving them to New York with us.

Petey is a real cutie ... I am quite fond of black cats! The last black cat we had was named Halloween. Petey looks just like her. Amy is beautiful--great shot of her with her beautiful eyes. Love seeing the cranberry sofa (our new living room furniture is cranberry--especially perfect shade for this time of year) and a bit of your apartment in the holiday mode!

Char, I said almost the exact words to V in an email! I also have a Miss M, too. That's too funny. My rule, kittens should only be enjoyed in somebody else's houses or in the picture books!

I love Amy's face. So sweet looking. But the new kid is purty, too.

You guys sure love your animals. Kory freaks out that we now have a cat and a dog. Oh, watch out! We might as well be a zoo!

:)

Feh! Calling me out on your BLOG! Think ye to inspire GUILT?! REMORSE? No way, V. They all look cute at first. And EmilyCat was herself a rescued cat: refused by her mother Sheena the SlutCat, unfed, unloved, and hanging at Death's Door. We all know of her status now. Ungrateful Wench and Reigning Resident Snark. Humpf.
