On the second day of September...

I  became a Technorati whore. Why? Because what else do I have to do on a Saturday night after the kids have gone to bed?

I thought when I launched my blog last year that I claimed it on Technorati,(Technorati Profile) but apparently I did not. Seeing as my blog is only read by a small select group of desperate sophisticated readers seeking plodding thoughtful  posts, I hadn't bothered with having Technorati decimate my self-esteem by ranking me in the blogosphere and advertising how seldom anyone links to my blog.  Crying.

But now I see I can start a whole new tradition of checking my blog ranking every Saturday and getting drunk in response to my ranking every Saturday night. This is sure to keep me out of trouble and hungover in church. Yeah. I'm a role model for bloggers everywhere. Drunk.

Select. (check) Sophisticated. (sorry) Seeking thoughtful posts. (double check) How's two out of three?

Well goddamn it, you beat me to it. Hungover in church pissed off about technorati staus. Yanno, if you think about it, the net result of technology is arguably an increase in neuroses and concomitant self-medication by the human race. Still, here I am, checking in late on a Saturday night, with a pretty decent beer buzz, empathizing with just EXACTLY your feelings, and posting a comment in the hope that you get a chuckle and feel a little better about whether or not your little voice reached out and mattered to someone else.

It did, by the way.

You guys rock! I'm glad I'm not too hungover to appreciate it!

Oh, Technorati. No one cares about it. It exists only because of the Bloggers who check it. No one else does. I don't even tag my blog. Feh. Haven't been to Technorati in almost a year. But, have been to v-grrrl.com almost every single day. So there.

I'm proud to be ranked in the top half-million of blogs tracked by Technorati. I feel so special.

I hadn't registered with Technorati until last week, although I did use it to see who linked to me. I am proud to say I am in the top 28,000 blogs. WOO HOO, PARTY TIME! ;-)
