Enough...
...brain-bending introspection. In the last few months, I've come to love the iPod that E gave me. I wasn't that interested in it at first, and then BAM-- I'm hooked. Music is my drug of choice. So here's something fun for your Friday.
Listen here.
And ladies, what do you think--Dwight Yoakum or Lyle Lovett? Dwight Yoakum is mighty fine, but y'know, Lyle has a Rather Large Band.

Country/Folk is a genre hardly being aired in Belgium (there are no country/folk stations at all), making it a true discovery each time a song comes along.
Sorry guys, but V this one's for you! :)
Shirley, I've got issues with Dwight and the tight jeans. Yeah, he gets away with it, but after living in Oklahoma for 8 years I got a little turned off by the cowboys trying too hard to highlight their assets in their Wranglers. Besides, I believe in Levis. Give me Bruce Springsteen!
And Expat CIT, I'm trying to see what you see in Trace, really I am, but, well, I'm just NOT. You can have him ALL to yourself.
I don't listen to male country singers much, except Vince Gill and Lyle. Love the jazzy CD Vince did. That man can play a guitar. And I still love the song "Amy," which Vince performed when he was with Pure Prairie League, back a million years ago.
Peter, Mary Chapin Carpenter is a Virginia grrrl best known for her sassy honky-tonk hits. While I enjoy the fun of those songs, it's her lesser known ones that I love. She writes beautifully. Her songs are evocative and poignant and tell a story. She's a poet with a guitar in her hands...
And I love my i-Pod. It's my companion whenever I get around to exercising, and on my daily walks to and back from work.
:)
